Toledo Botanical Garden  

Toledo Botanical Garden (formerly the Crosby Gardens and George P. Crosby Park) is a botanical garden in Toledo, Ohio; it is a museum for plants; Toledo Botanical Garden offers visitors the opportunity to share, discover and enjoy cultivated beauty.  With more than 60 acres of display gardens and relevant plant collections, TBG is a place of tranquility and opportunities for exploration and reflection. It is also a center for the arts and neighbor to two Toledo Public Schools — Hawkins STEM Academy and Natural Sciences Technology Center — creating a campus for horticulture, art, and education.  Green thumbs come to the Garden to learn more about the varieties of annuals and perennials nestled within the various beds and look for ways to incorporate new ideas into their home landscapes.

Metroparks Toledo began assisting operations in 2006 after the city ceased its garden funding. Transfer of the park to Metroparks Toledo was formally transferred in 2019.

Outdoor recreation is the pathway to nature. No matter the time of year, there are always plenty of reasons to enjoy the great outdoors.  Metroparks provide epic settings for a wide range of recreation and fitness pursuits. Several Metroparks offer opportunities for traditional fitness activities like hiking, running and biking, or playing a ballgame. Others accommodate traditional excursions for outdoor enthusiasts like kayaking, canoeing, hunting, and fishing. Oak Openings Preserve is part of a region by the same name renown for world-class birding. The newest Metropark, Westwinds, features an archery park.  The recreational outlets for the people of Toledo and the authentic experiences they afford are boundless. These are ideal activities for connecting with nature and connecting and promoting general health and well-being.  With the development of Middlegrounds, Metroparks will deliver outdoor recreation to the heart of downtown Toledo. Blair Lithophane Museum

In 2002 a collection of 2,300 Lithophanes donated to the city of Toledo were used to establish a museum at the Toledo Botanical Gardens. The museum closed at the end of October 2019. The city agreed to relocate the museum by September 2020. As of January 2020, the museum had not confirmed plans beyond attempting to keep the collection in the city of Toledo.
